Following on from the success of the 10ft retractables, for the last two seasons we have also been testing these SUB X CR built 12ft and 12ft 6" Atrex blanks. We wanted a modern blank with all the high-spec attributes that new carbon technologies bring to a rod, but with a crisp, understated look that felt like a classic carp rod. The result is these two new rods for the range - a classic 12' model, and as Gaz has always preferred, a 12' 6" model that offers some extra power, reach and playing capability for bigger waters, heavier situations and bigger carp. 

The rods are incredibly light and crisp, yet remain powerful enough for the majority of UK situations and are a true joy to play carp on - something that is often overlooked but that was high on our list of demands from them. Perfectly suited to 2-4oz leads and anything from half a wrap, right up to 30+.  

Built by hand in the UK by Cotswold Rods, they are finished beautifully as you would expect with some Sub touches - ultra-low profile carbon line clips, discreet graphics and a laser engraved aluminium butt cap. A serious spec combined with a UK custom build quality but available 'off the shelf' with no custom waiting times.

Specification:

- 12ft 3.5lb Atrex fast taper, hi modulous, low resin blanks from American Tackle. Utilising a precision blend of carbon fibre materials for a light, balanced and powerful action.

- Each blank is perfectly finished with a non-scratch, 1k weave from butt to tip.

- Full high density Duplon handles, including ‘old skool’ style front flare. With a very slight flare at the rear, the handles are stylish, comfortable and durable.

- The rods are fitted with American Tackle 'Vortex Air' guides including a 50mm butt ring. These are incredibly light, tough rings with a beautifully minimal look and designed to handle anything.
